Data We Collect and What We Do With It

The Placer Group does not sell, share, or distribute any information that is collected from our apps. Personal and non-personal information is collected from our products and is only used for the purposes of helping to manage subscriptions, understand how and where the app is being used, and understand what parts of the app are most popular.

Your personal information

The information we collect is only for subscription management and what we need to collect is different based on how each respective app store handles their subscriptions:

Other forms of information we collect

User Type: When first launching the app, users are asked to classify themselves as a specific kind of user: Public Defender, Law Enforcement, Rather Not Say, etc.  This information is only for our own internal understanding of how our user base is distributed.

Device ID: iOS creates a virtual device ID that is connected to your device and our app. A separate user account on your device would give us a different identifier. We use this to identify your device(s) to help maintain a record of your subscription purchases. It also helps us to troubleshoot potential subscription issues. Android creates a virtual device ID that is connected to your user account and your device. A separate user account on your device would give us a different identifier. We use this to identify your device(s) to help maintain a record of your subscription purchases. It also helps us to troubleshoot potential subscription issues. We may also track information related to your device, including the OS version, the type of OS, and the version of the app that is running on your device.

Subscription Information: We track trial subscription expiration dates, subscription purchase dates, and subscription expiration dates. We create a digital receipt or token that uniquely identifies a purchase record that can be validated by the respective app store.

Log Data: Our apps collect log data to record errors and help identify problems, and those logs can be shared with us when issues arise. This data might include the device ID and user account name that matches the form saved in our database.  These logs are only pulled when needed and are otherwise not saved on our server.

Anonymous Usage: We collect usage information about how popular parts of the app are and which features get used or ignored. This information is anonymous and is not linked to any personal identifying information.
